Where to Go for the Best Italian Foods in Santa Clarita

We are huge fans of Italian food. Italian cold cut sandwiches, spaghetti, caprese salads, antipasto salads, Italian cookies, cannolis…oh, I could go on all day. Johnathan is ¼ Italian, so my love of Italian food was elevated a notch after we were married and he opened my world up to using quality imported Italian made food products as a base to our meals. It really did transform the taste of our meals. The only problem, it was always hard to find the imported grocery ingredients.

Then we found a little store, Italia Panetteria and Deli, located on Newhall Ranch Road at the corner of Dickason Drive (just south of Valencia High School). Inside this store we found all the Italian groceries we ever need and so much more! 

Not only did they have a huge selection of imported groceries, but as we would ultimately find out, amazing ready-made homemade prepared Italian foods, a deli with sandwiches to die for and catering service so you can order their amazing food for a big celebration. 

The grocery section is full of all kinds of imported goodies. Items like extra virgin olive oils, aged vinegars, imported pasta and sauces, mozzarella, burrata and ricotta cheeses, ladyfingers, San Marzano Tomatoes, “OO” flour (used for making homemade pasta), olives, pepperoncini and the list goes on and on. I’m seriously getting hungry just typing this. 

Now, if you love Italian food, but you don’t want to or have the time to make your whole meal from scratch (We know life gets crazy busy, so no judgment here!) There is a whole section just of the store lined with refrigerators full of their homemade items for you to make meals with. Asiago filled gnocchi, chicken pesto ravioli, butternut squash ravioli, roasted eggplant ravioli, mascarpone and spinach ravioli, cannelloni, cheese manicotti, chicken parmigiana, meat lasagna, sausage and peppers, ready made pizza dough, ready to bake homemade pizzas of all kinds, basil pesto, sliced pepperoni, homemade pizza sauce, olive spread, and of course all kinds of gelato and sorbet.

If the Italian groceries or make it on your own options aren’t your thing, one of the most popular reasons people pop in to Italia is their deli. They have all the varieties of salami, prosciutto di parma, imported mortadella, homemade roast beef, and they use my favorite kind of meat for their deli sandwiches, Boars Head. They offer a variety of hot and cold sandwiches on their daily freshly baked bread (the sausage and pepper or Italian cold cut sandwiches are amazing), you can also choose from a long list of salads. Of course you can add a couple freshly baked Italian cookies and choose from a long list of imported Italian drinks and sodas to enjoy with your lunch or dinner.

With a set location for us to find all the ingredients to make our favorite Italian dishes, we can focus on creating amazing meals to share with our friends and family.
