Maginn's Pub and Grill

Known as one of the oldest communities within Santa Clarita, Old Town Newhall has recently re-emerged as one of the most exciting places for locals and visitors alike to explore, shop and of course eat! Fans of the food and spirits of Ireland will delight in Santa Clarita's very own Irish Pub, Maginn’s Pub and Grill, located at 24480 Main Street, #140. Tucked into a courtyard across from Laemmle Theatre, enter through the ornate blue Victorian doors and you will immediately notice the beautiful handcrafted Victorian-style bar, the warm inviting atmosphere and no doubt will be greeted like family by the amazing staff or by one of the owners.

Inside, a variety of seating is available, including bar seating, shared long table seating and booths. If you prefer to dine in fresh air, a small outdoor patio with tables and chairs are also available. I was delighted on my evening visit to find heaters on and as an extra special touch, blankets placed on each chair to help you stay warm. Both indoor and outdoor seating have TV’s so patrons can enjoy watching sporting events with their Guinness in hand. As this is a smaller mom and pop business, the seating is limited, I wouldn’t recommend larger groups for this establishment.

While the atmosphere of Maginn’s is on point, we were equally impressed with their food and drink offerings. Traditional Irish eats like Irish Soda Bread, Fish and Chips, Bangers and Champ and Cottage Pie are on the menu, as well as non-Irish eats including a mix of burgers, sandwiches and salads (don’t miss the Beet and Goat Cheese Salad…yum). I ordered the Fish and Chips, and found it to be everything you would want, perfectly cooked, not greasy, large portions. For drinks, they offer a huge selection of Irish and domestic beers on tap, and have a large featured cocktail menu. They also offer a special brunch menu on Sunday’s from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Happy Hour is on Tuesdays-Thursdays 3 p.m.- 6 p.m. and Maginn’s is closed on Monday.
